Our Farm History
It all started with... A thought... A dream… A need to be part of something more than ordinary.
The land we now call home was covered in scrub, underbrush, and trees. As with the pioneers before us, we began to clear the land slowly by hand. The beauty of what lay before us came into view. As time went by, the “Big” house was created and built by a gifted and passionate gentleman who had the guidance of a selfless and loving gentle woman. They were known as Poppa and Grandma.
Fences and cattle followed, then a pond and fish, fruit trees, gardens and more. Our farm is where we love, cry, argue, forgive and believe in the future of the next generation. It is here that we grow not only animals and plants, but independence, leadership, and education. We are moving forward with the resilience and experience of the past that is merged with the technology of today and tomorrow. It all began because someone believed in being more than ordinary. Today we are Eyrie Summit Farm; a sanctuary, a refuge, a stronghold.
Eyrie Summit farm is a family farm. We are centrally located in the Yadkin Valley Wine Region in the foothills of North Carolina. On our farm we are in business to produce products to sell, but it is also our home. We love, laugh and cry here. As we homestead we provide for our family, as a business we want to share in the abundance of what we grow with the local community. Pork, chicken, eggs, honey and soap, for now. All carefully and humanely cared for, worried over and thanked for what is provided. Join us to tour our farm, buy products or try one of our events or classes.
